The law of electronic patient' documentation came into operation in Finland in June 2007. The law obligates organizations of health care to connect with national information service system before 2011. According to definitions electronic patient record should be uniform and structured. Unified classification, terminology and core data elements will be used in the documentation of nursing care plan. This requires new knowledge and the movement towards to plan the education of nursing informatics. eNNi-project is focusing on the research and development of the transition of the education of documentation.
