A 6-year-old Labrador retriever dog with a history of pneumonia was presented because of an acute onset of dull mentation and coughing. Diagnostic imaging and cytology revealed a pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum, and pleural effusion, consistent with pyothorax. The dog underwent exploratory sternotomy for lung lobectomy of the right cranial and middle lung lobes.

Objective: Prolonged mechanical ventilation after cardiac surgery significantly increases morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study is to establish the role of diaphragmatic pacing to decrease mechanical ventilation burden in high-risk patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Objective: To construct a risk prediction model for elderly severe patients with pneumonia infection, and analyze the prevention effect of 1M3S nursing plan under early warning mode.

Methods: Firstly, 180 elderly severe patients admitted to the department of intensive care unit (ICU) of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xingtai Medical College from September 2020 to September 2021 were enrolled. Their clinical data were collected and retrospectively analyzed, and they were divided into infected group and non-infected group according to whether they developed severe pneumonia.

Recently, research has examined LCS use in the United States following this change, which centered on lowering the age to begin screening from 55 to 50 years and the smoking history threshold from 30 to 20 pack-years.
