The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of epilepsy in the Split-Dalmatia County. The study was carried out in a sample of 140,493 County inhabitants. There were 883 epilepsy patients in the study sample, showing a male predominance. The prevalence of epilepsy was 6.29/1,000 inhabitants, roughly corresponding to the results recorded in other populations. The highest prevalence was found in Vrlika, where patients with severe mental retardation are institutionalized. Other places showed a uniform distribution. The mean patient age was 41.02b +/- 3.4 years, with a mean of 1.33 drugs per patient. There was no statistically significant sex difference in the number of drugs used. The largest number of patients were on monotherapy, wherease only 0.45% of patients were taking no therapy at all. Study results are consistent to those reported in developed countries.

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are characterized by abnormal pulmonary vessels forming arteriovenous shunts that compromise oxygenation of the blood, causing hypoxemia, and predispose to infections and cerebral ischemia. The patient in this case was a 38-year-old male who presented with tachypnea and dyspnea, cyanosis of extremities, and significant digital clubbing. Purpose: Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition that affects approximately 5% of the pediatric population, with increased prevalence among those with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Reports suggest that unrecognized and untreated ADHD impairs T1D control and that ADHD may be underdiagnosed in the Polish population. The International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes recommends neurodevelopmental assessments in children with T1D, but specific guidelines on procedures and implementation are lacking.
