Homelessness is a growing concern in the United States, especially among people who use drugs (PWUD). The degree of material hardship among this population may be linked to worse health outcomes. PWUD experiencing homelessness in urban areas are increasingly subjected to policies and social treatment, such as forced displacement, which may worsen material hardship.

The self-assembly of biological membraneless organelles can be mimicked by active droplets resulting from chemically fueled microphase separation. However, how the nonequilibrium, transient structure of these active droplets can be controlled through the physicochemical input parameters is not yet well understood. In our work, a chemically fueled two-state chemical reaction and subsequent droplet growth and decay are modeled with a reactive Brownian dynamics simulation in two spatial dimensions.

Objective: Assess the contribution of early tumor growth dynamics modeling to predict clinical outcomes in non-small cell lung cancer patients receiving immunotherapy, alongside standard RECIST 1.1 criteria.
Methods: Our retrospective studies used data from 861 patients with advanced NSCLC enrolled in three randomized Phase III trials evaluating immunotherapy plus chemotherapy were analyzed.

Conductivity is an important indicator of the health of aquatic ecosystems. We model large amounts of lake conductivity data collected as part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's National Lakes Assessment using spatial indexing, a flexible and efficient approach to fitting spatial statistical models to big data sets. Spatial indexing is capable of accommodating various spatial covariance structures as well as features like random effects, geometric anisotropy, partition factors, and non-Euclidean topologies.
