Purpose: To assess the transferability of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) multislice multiecho T2(*) technique for global and segmental measurement of iron overload in thalassemia patients.

Materials And Methods: Multiecho T2(*) sequences were installed on six MRI scanners. Five healthy subjects (n = 30) were scanned at each site; five thalassemia major (TM) patients were scanned at the reference site and were rescanned locally (n = 25) within 1 month. T2(*) images were analyzed using previously validated software.

Results: T2(*) values of healthy subjects showed intersite homogeneity. On TM patients, for global heart T2(*) values the correlation coefficient was 0.97, coefficients of variation (CoV(s)) ranged from 0.04-0.12, and intraclass coefficients (ICC(s)) ranged from 0.94-0.99. The mean CoV and ICC for segmental T2(*) distribution were 0.198 and 88, respectively.

Conclusion: The multislice multiecho T2(*) technique is transferable among scanners with good reproducibility.

Department of Radiology, Shengli Clinical Medical College of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Provincial Hospital, Fuzhou University Affiliated Provincial Hospital, Fuzhou, China.

Objective: This study investigates the diagnostic value of Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) in biparametric MRI (bp-MRI) for the detection of muscular infiltration in bladder cancer, and to investigate whether apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value can function as a potential indicator of bp-MRI VI-RADS for patient benefit.

Materials And Methods: This single-center retrospective study enrolled 81 patients with pathologically confirmed bladder cancer from October 2019 to November 2021. Two readers independently scored the T2-weighted images and diffusion-weighted images of each index lesion based on the VI-RADS criteria, subsequently deriving the bp-MRI VI-RADS scores.

Background: An orofacial cleft significantly impacts the oral health-related quality of life of children and teenagers. Secondary reconstruction is a more complex procedure due to tissue deficiency and scarring. The study aimed to evaluate the use of Pfeifer's wave-line incision method and the rotational flap method in the secondary reconstruction of unilateral lip clefts in patients with unilateral cleft lip and ala nasi aged 5-25 years utilizing anthropometry assessment.

Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic; Department of Dentistry, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the General University Hospital, Prague, Czech Republic. Electronic address:

Introduction: The primary aim of this study was to assess the amount and long-term stability of orthodontically created bone in patients with agenesis of maxillary lateral incisors after canine distalization. The secondary aim was to explore the impact of patient age on the process of alveolar bone resorption.

Methods: A group of patients with agenesis of the maxillary permanent lateral incisor was examined at 4 time points: the beginning of orthodontic treatment (T1, n = 80), the end of treatment (T2, n = 80), 2-5 years after treatment (T3, n = 79), and 12-15 years after treatment (T4, n = 32).

Objective: Automatic segmentation and detection of vestibular schwannoma (VS) in MRI by deep learning is an upcoming topic. However, deep learning faces generalization challenges due to tumor variability even though measurements and segmentation of VS are essential for growth monitoring and treatment planning. Therefore, we introduce a novel model combining two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models for the detection of VS by deep learning aiming to improve performance of automatic segmentation.

Copper plays an important role in the regulation of PD-L1, suggesting that reducing copper levels within tumors may enhance anti-cancer immunotherapy. Tumor microenvironment responsive copper nanodeprivator (TMECN) was developed for enhancing immunotherapy of tumor via the cross-link of mercaptopolyglycol bipyridine and dimercaptosuccinic acid modifying FePt nanoalloy using the disulfide bond. Upon entering tumor cells, the disulfide bond in TMECN is cleaved by the overexpressed glutathione, exposing abundance of sulfhydryl groups.
