Community Health Workers (CHWs), also known as Promotores de Salud expand health equity to underserved and hard-to-reach communities by providing increased access to healthcare and support services for caregivers and persons living with dementia (PLWD). CHWs have been particularly useful in supporting Hispanic/Latino communities, who are 1.5 times more likely to develop Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias than non-Hispanic whites and are less likely to access support services due to language and cultural barriers.

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, governments across the world implemented processes and policies to limit the spread of COVID-19, especially in long-term care (LTC) homes. This led to changes in technology use for persons living in LTC homes, their families and friends, as well as the paid workforce dedicated to caring for them.
Objective: The study describes the role of technology and its impact on the experiences of LTC staff working in northern and rural areas in Western Canada during COVID-19.

Vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, children, displaced people, and refugees, often encounter challenges in accessing healthcare. In this study, we used data from the third iteration of the International Society of Nephrology Global Kidney Health Atlas (ISN-GKHA) to describe kidney care access and delivery to vulnerable populations across countries and regions. Using data from an international survey of clinicians, policymakers, and patient advocates, we assessed the funding and coverage of vulnerable populations on all aspects of kidney replacement therapies (KRT).
