Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is associated with a high mortality rate and limited treatment efficacy. We created a microRNA (miRNA) expression signature by RNA sequencing using specimens from patients with SCLC who had failed treatment. Forty-nine miRNAs were downregulated in SCLC tissues and were candidate tumor-suppressive miRNAs.

miRNA-34b/c regulates mucus secretion in RSV-infected airway epithelial cells by targeting FGFR1.

Department of Respiratory Medicine, National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, China.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in airway epithelial cells is the main cause of bronchiolitis in children. Excessive mucus secretion is one of the primary symbols in RSV related lower respiratory tract infections (RSV-related LRTI). However, the pathological processes of mucus hypersecretion in RSV-infected airway epithelial cells remains unclear.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is mostly detected at late stages weighed down with metastasis, and the five-year survival rate of patients is only 30%, which dictates the necessity to develop gentler and more selectively targeted drugs that current chemotherapeutic agents. The search for factors that can influence on the activity of the PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint signaling pathway in tumors is relevant, and micro RNAs (miRNAs) play an important role in it. Over the past 5 years, only a few miRNAs (miR-34a, miR-145, and miR-424), which have a regulatory effect on the PD-1/PD-L1 system in OC patients, have been discovered.

The role of secreted exosomes during dopaminergic (DA) neuron differentiation is still unknown. To investigate the roles of exosomes in DA neuron fate specification, we profiled exosomal microRNAs (miRNAs) during DA neuron differentiation of epiblast-derived stem cells (EpiSCs). There were 26 miRNAs differentially expressed (relative fold >2,  < 0.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a specific type of damage to the central nervous system causing temporary or permanent changes in its function. The present aimed to identify the genetic changes in neuroplasticity following SCI in rats. The GSE52763 microarray dataset, which included 15 samples [3 sham (1 week), 4 injury only (1 week), 4 injury only (3 weeks), 4 injury + treadmill (3 weeks)] was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.
