Renal impairment is an important complication in patients with coronary disease, acute or chronic. First because it is frequent and secondly because it implies a worse prognosis. Unfortunately, some physicians do not perceive the real risk that renal dysfunction implies. An integral approach, through on-going educational activities, is needed to emphasize the relevance of this complication.
