We present a case of an 80-year-old female who presented with chest pain, vomiting and night sweats a few weeks post thoracic endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (TEVAR). A computed tomography (CT) scan demonstrated a type 1B endoleak for which she underwent a repeat TEVAR. Postoperatively, she developed fever, dysphagia, haematemesis and melaena.

In this article, we present an exceptionally rare and challenging clinical case. It concerns a 65-year-old woman who, while eating, accidentally ingested a thorn. This foreign body, after being swallowed, migrated from the proximal esophagus, until it penetrated the left internal jugular vein.

The role of muscle biopsy in the investigation of neuromuscular disease remains firmly established but has evolved. Expertise in diagnostic myopathology remains relevant and supports clinical practice. Neuromuscular disease is rare; thus clinicopathological correlation, or better, collaboration is important.

Unlabelled: A 41-year-old male with prior diagnosis of seronegative myasthenia gravis presented with complaints of bilateral ptosis, dysphagia, nasal voice and nasal regurgitation. Despite treatment with pyridostigmine, there was lack of significant improvement in the symptoms. Further investigations, including antibody assays and nerve conduction studies did not support the diagnosis.
