The penetration of anthraquinones and their platinum complexes into cancer cell spheroids reveals that they model well the distribution of such compounds in solid tumours and that the proportion of the compound that accumulates deep in the spheroid is inversely related to the rate of cellular uptake which is affected by the charge of the compound.

Introduction: The synergistic combination of histone deacetylase inhibitors and platinum-based medicines represents a promising therapeutic strategy to efficacy and overcome drug resistance in cancer therapy, necessitating a comprehensive on their molecular interactions and clinical potential.
Areas Covered: The objective of presented review is to investigate the molecular pathways of platinum medicines and HDAC inhibitors. A comprehensive literature review from 2011 to 2024 was conducted across multiples databases like MEDLINE, PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Scopus and official websites of ClinicalTrial.

Hybrid nano-sized motors with navigation and self-actuation capabilities have emerged as promising nanocarriers for a wide range of delivery, sensing, and diagnostic applications due to their unique ability to achieve controllable locomotion within a complex biological environment such as tissue. However, most current nanomotors typically operate using a single driving mode, whereas propulsion induced by both external and local stimuli could be more beneficial to achieve efficient motility in a biomedical setting. In this work, we present a hybrid nanomotor by functionalizing biodegradable stomatocytes with platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs).

With enrichment of tetracycline (TC) in ecosystems, its accurate detection has become a major concern. Noble-metal nano-particles have attracted great interest as potential materials for sensing applications because of their remarkable electrical properties and adaptability. Herein, a novel electro-chemical detection technique based on carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) as the support material is developed to detect TC with high precision.

Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most lethal gynecologic malignancy which mainly consists of serous, mucinous, clear cell, and endometrioid subtypes. Due to the lack of classic symptoms at an early stage, EOC usually presented as advanced tumors with local and/or distant metastasis. Although a large portion of EOC was initially platinum-sensitive, most patients would acquire resistance to common chemotherapeutic agents.

Patients with High-Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer (HGSOC) exhibit varied responses to treatment, with 20-30% showing de novo resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy. While hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained pathological slides are used for routine diagnosis of cancer type, they may also contain diagnostically useful information about treatment response. Our study demonstrates that combining H&E-stained whole slide images (WSIs) with proteomic signatures using a multimodal deep learning framework significantly improves the prediction of platinum response in both discovery and validation cohorts.
