In this paper we propose group refractive index measurement with a spectral interferometric set-up using a broadband supercontinuum generated in an air-silica Microstructured Optical Fibre (MOF) pumped with a picosecond pulsed microchip laser. This source authorizes high fringes visibility for dispersion measurements by Spectroscopic Analysis of White Light Interferograms (SAWLI). Phase calculation is assumed by a wavelet transform procedure combined with a curve fit of the recorded channelled spectrum intensity. This approach provides high resolution and absolute group refractive index measurements along one line of the sample by recording a single 2D spectral interferogram without mechanical scanning.

To analyze the refractive accuracy of a novel swept-source optical coherence biometer (SS-OCT), that uses individual refractive indices to measure axial length, in short and long eyes implanted with monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs). This retrospective comparative study considered eyes with short axial length (AL) (< 22.5 mm) or long AL (> 26 mm) bilaterally implanted with the Acrysof IQ monofocal IOL.

Purpose: Keratoconus (KC) is characterized by irregular astigmatism along with corneal stromal weakness and is associated with altered immune status. Tissue resident microbiomes are known to influence the immune status in other organs, but such a nexus has not been described in ocular conditions. Therefore, we examined the ocular surface microbiome of patients with KC and correlated it to the immune cell and tear molecular factor profiles.

To develop and validate a predictive model for assessing the risk of early postoperative high intraocular pressure (HIOP) following posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. The clinical data of patients who underwent posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine between May 2023 and April 2024 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into a modeling group and a validation group with a 7∶3 ratio using computerized random allocation.

Clinical Relevance: Although laser refractive surgeries and multifocal intraocular lens implantation are generally avoided in patients with diabetic retinopathy, a substantial proportion of well-glycaemic-controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus patients are considered for these procedures. Pupil dynamics play a significant role in determining postoperative satisfaction in these patients.
Background: To evaluate pupillary dynamics in patients with and without diabetes following uneventful phacoemulsification surgery.

The current research aims to determine the impact of orange peel dye (OPD), an eco-friendly addition, on the optical properties of biodegradable polymers. This study investigates the enhancement of optical properties in solid electrolytes based on chitosan (CS) and glycerol, with varying OPD concentrations. UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy revealed significantly enhanced UV-visible light absorption in the 200-500 nm region and effective UV light blocking.
