The advantages of lymphogenic techniques (closed antibiotic perfusion into the lymphatic system) have been shown in 203 surgical patients, as compared to 210 control patients to whom an antibiotic was administered by the current technique. The clinical and economic effect obtained was manifested in a shorter hospital stay, decreased lethality, reduced drug consumption per course of treatment, etc. In 92 cases of severe endo- and exotoxemias of various etiology, accompanied by hepatic or hepatorenal failure the possibility of open perfusion of the lymphatic system which incorporated lymphosorption with CKH type sorbent followed by lymph sanitation with kanamycin (50 mg/kg) before its reinfusion has been shown.
