The use of TMPMgCl.LiCl and iPrMgCl.LiCl allows a sequential 2,3-difunctionalization of various 2-arylsulfinyl furans, thiophenes and benzofurans. Subsequent use of the same reagents permits a selective full functionalization of all 4 positions of the furan and thiophene scaffolds.

Two-dimensional organic-inorganic perovskites have garnered extensive interest owing to their unique structure and optoelectronic performance. However, their loose structures complicate the elucidation of mechanisms and tend to cause uncertainty and variations in experimental and calculated results. This can generally be rooted in dynamically swinging spacer molecules through two mechanisms: one is the intrinsic geometric steric effect, and the other is related to the electronic effect orbital overlapping and electronic screening.

A subgroup analysis of a randomized study demonstrated that patients with advanced or metastatic liposarcoma treated with eribulin had longer overall survival and progression-free survival compared to those treated with dacarbazine, suggesting eribulin as a therapeutic option for advanced liposarcoma. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of eribulin versus dacarbazine in the treatment of advanced liposarcoma. We established a 10-year Markov model to compare the cost-effectiveness of eribulin and dacarbazine regimens.

The biomass-derived furan aldehydes furfural (FF) and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) are versatile platform chemicals used to produce various value-added chemicals through further valorization processes. Selectively reducing C═O in FF and HMF molecules to form furfuryl alcohol (FAL) and 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan (BHMF), represents an important research field in upgrading biomass-based furan compounds.
