We report on highly time- and space-resolved measurements of the evolution of electron plasma waves driven by stimulated Raman scattering of a picosecond, single laser speckle propagating through a preformed underdense plasma. Two-dimensional Thomson scatter spectra indicate that the dominant waves have significant transverse components. These results are supported by particle-in-cell simulations which pinpoint the dominant role of the wave front bowing and of secondary nonlinear electrostatic instabilities in the evolution of the plasma waves.

Terahertz modulation technology based on programmable metasurfaces can respond in real time to external signals or environmental changes, enabling flexible and adaptive control of terahertz waves. This technology demonstrates significant potential and importance across various fields, including communication, imaging, scientific research, security monitoring, and industrial applications. This paper proposes a terahertz programmable metasurface based on solid-state plasma, utilizing solid-state plasma devices to achieve dynamic control of properties such as the amplitude and phase of terahertz waves.

Previous reports mainly focused on the phase and amplitude changes of THz waves induced by the plasma, while the terahertz polarization characteristics were rarely reported. In this paper, in addition to the plasma electron density and terahertz transmittance, we further applied the terahertz time-domain polarimetry (THz-TDP) method to diagnose the terahertz polarization rotation angles induced by an argon inductively coupled plasma (ICP).

In this study, we investigate the [Formula: see text]-D Jaulent-Miodek (JM) equation, which is significant due to its energy-based Schrödinger potential and applications in fields such as optics, soliton theory, signal processing, geophysics, fluid dynamics, and plasma physics. Given its broad utility, a rigorous mathematical analysis of the JM equation is essential. The primary objective of this work is to derive exact soliton solutions using the Modified Sub-Equation (MSE) and Modified Auxiliary Equation (MAE) techniques.

In the subauroral zone at the boundary of the auroral oval in the evening and night hours during geomagnetic disturbances, a narrow (about 1°-2°) and extended structure (several hours in longitude) is formed. It is known as a polarization jet (PJ) or the subauroral ion drift (SAID). The PJ/SAID is a fast westward ion drift and is one of the main signatures of a geomagnetic disturbance in the subauroral ionosphere at the altitudes of the F-layer, when the geomagnetic AE index reaches more than 500 nT.

Recently, exposure to sounds with ultrasound (US) components has been shown to modulate brain activity. However, the effects of US on emotional states remain poorly understood. We previously demonstrated that the olfactory bulbectomized (OBX) rat depression model is suitable for examining the effects of audible sounds on emotionality.
