The solubilisation of two poorly soluble flavonoids, quercetin and rutin, in micellar solutions of mixtures of a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and styrene oxide (E(137)S(18)E(137)) with one of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (E(62)P(39)E(62)) has been studied at 25 and 37 degrees C. Solubilisation capacities were higher than those for the model poorly water-soluble drug griseofulvin and comparable with published values for the solubilisation of rutin by beta-cyclodextrin.

The rapid growth of nanotechnology has opened new frontiers in biomedical applications, particularly through the use of metal nanoparticles. This study explores the green synthesis of copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) using an aqueous extract of Pleurotus ostreatus (PO-CuNPs), and their characterization through UV-visible spectroscopy, FTIR, SEM, and EDAX. The synthesized PO-CuNPs demonstrated exceptional antioxidant activity, evident in hydrogen peroxide scavenging and phosphomolybdenum assays.

Quercetin (3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxy flavonoid) is a bioactive flavonoid with significant medicinal properties. Similarly, Rutin (quercetin-3-O-rutinoside or 3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxy-flavone-3-rutinoside) is widely recognized flavonoid, and is converted to quercetin by α-L-rhamnosidase and β-D-glucosidase. In this study, engineered Aspergillus niger co-expressing α-L-rhamnosidase and β-glucosidase was successfully constructed, and engineered strain Rha1-BGL8 was obtained by enzyme activity assay.

The constituents of the aqueous, ethanol, hexane, and methanol extracts of Anatolian propolis collected from the Eastern Black Sea Region (Çayeli-Rize) were investigated by GC-MS, HPLC and AAS. Interestingly, lactulose has been identified. Ten phenolic compounds, namely caffeic acid, ferulic acid, rutin, taxifolin, quercetin, kaempferol, apigenin, silicristin, silibinin and gallic acid were determined.

Globally, despite the commercial and cultural importance of edible caterpillars ( and ), comprehensive information on their dietary and therapeutic benefits has not been fully explored. The study was aimed at evaluating the nutritional composition and bioactive compounds profile of two important edible caterpillars ( and ) in Africa. Our results demonstrated that and are capable of amplifying host plant protein (17 %) by 4.

Despite the growing interest in using natural compounds for disease prevention and treatment, (wild garlic), known for its therapeutic properties, has not been extensively studied for its chemical composition and biological activities. Therefore, this study aims to explore the in vitro antioxidant, antibacterial, and antitumor activities of extracts according to their functional phytochemical profile, while assessing whether ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) enhances bioactive properties in comparison to conventional maceration (CM). Both extracts were characterized by spectrophotometric methods and LC-ESI+-MS.
