Malaria is a major cause of death in tropical and sub-tropical countries, killing each year over 1 million people globally; 90% of fatalities occur in African children. Although effective ways to manage malaria now exist, the number of malaria cases is still increasing, due to several factors. In this emergency situation, prompt and effective diagnostic methods are essential for the management and control of malaria. Traditional methods for diagnosing malaria remain problematic; therefore, new technologies have been developed and introduced to overcome the limitations. This review details the currently available diagnostic methods for malaria.

Background: Tumor metastasis is one of the main causes of death in cancer patients; however, the mechanism controlling metastasis is unclear. The posttranscriptional regulation of metastasis-related genes mediated by AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 4A (Arid4a), an RNA-binding protein (RBP), has not been elucidated.
Methods: Bioinformatic analysis, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, and immunoblotting were employed to determine the expression of Arid4a in breast tumor tissues and its association with the survival of cancer patients.

Objective: To investigate the application of whole exome sequencing (WES) in the prenatal diagnosis of isolated fetal growth restriction (FGR) with a normal result by chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA).
Methods: This retrospective study included singleton fetuses with isolated FGR in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital between July 2018 and August 2023. All fetuses were subjected to invasive prenatal testing with CMA and WES.

Introduction: Early diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a clinical challenge. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided detective flow imaging (EUS-DFI) can evaluate pancreatic microvascularization, which may be altered in chronic inflammation. Our study aimed to evaluate EUS-DFI findings in patients with CP.

Background: Socioeconomic status and geographical location contribute to disparities in localized prostate cancer (PCa) treatment. We examined the impact of area of deprivation index (ADI) on initial treatment type for localized PCa in a North-American cohort.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with localized PCa, treated within Henry Ford Health (HFH), between 1995 and 2022, with available ADI-data.
