Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a serious disease with limited treatment options. We explored the significance of androgen receptor (AR) expression and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in predicting neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) resistance in TNBC, hypothesizing that AR/TIL classification using pretreatment biopsies can identify NAC-resistant subgroups and improve the understanding of apocrine differentiation.

Methods: This retrospective study included 156 consecutive patients with TNBC treated with NAC.

Background: In patients with breast cancer staged ypN1 after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), there is limited evidence-based guidance regarding exemption from axillary lymph node dissection (ALND).

Methods: This study analyzed ypN1 breast cancer patients post-NAC from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results databases. Patients were categorized into the breast-conserving surgery (BCS) group and the total mastectomy (TM) group, and further divided by the number of positive lymph nodes (LNs).

Retinoblastoma and beyond: pediatric orbital mass lesions.

Neuroradiology

December 2024

Department of Neuroradiology, Istituto Giannina Gaslini, Genoa, Italy.

Various space occupying lesions can arise in the orbit, ranging from developmental anomalies to malignancies, and many of the diseases occurring in children are different from the pathologies in the adult population. As the clinical presentation is frequently nonspecific, radiologic evaluation is essential for lesion detection and characterization as well as patient management. While orbital masses may in some cases involve multiple compartments, a simple compartmental approach is the key for the diagnosis on imaging studies, and MRI is the modality of choice.

Purpose: Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a rare cerebrovascular disorder characterized by the narrowing of arteries at the brain's base. While cerebral angiography is the gold standard for diagnosis, high-resolution vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging (VW-MRI) has recently emerged as a non-invasive diagnostic tool. This systematic review aims to provide insights into the role of VW-MRI in enhancing the diagnosis and management of MMD.
