This review provides a comprehensive assessment of intraocular pressure (IOP), phacoemulsification techniques, and intraocular lenses (IOLs) in pseudoexfoliation (PXF) eyes having cataract surgery. Pseudoexfoliation is ubiquitous and the most common cause for open-angle glaucoma worldwide. Cataracts occur with increased frequency in PXF eyes, and surgery is potentially complicated by the presence of small pupils and zonule laxity and significantly affects IOP in these eyes. Preoperative evaluation and the options for intraoperative management of cataract are presented with recommendations for the use of adjunctive pupil and zonule support devices. Postoperative complications such as capsule contraction and IOL instability are discussed and laser and surgical options to manage these special problems presented.

Background: Nineteen-year follow-up after initial examination on patients with Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly or syndrome (ARAS) and coexisting Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy (FED). All individuals had previously been tested positive for the PITX2 (g.20 913 G>T) mutation.

Purpose: This study evaluates the effect of 6° horizontal gaze tolerance on visual field mean sensitivity (MS) in patients with glaucoma using a binocular head-mounted automated perimeter, following findings of structural changes in the posterior globe from magnetic resonance imaging and optical coherence tomography.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 161 eyes (85 primary open-angle glaucoma [POAG] and 76 healthy) from 117 participants were included. Logistic regression and 1:1 matched analysis assessed the propensity score for glaucoma and healthy eyes, considering age, sex, and axial length as confounders.

Purpose: Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) has emerged as a novel approach in corneal transplantation over the past two decades. This study aims to identify predisposing risk factors for post-DMEK ocular hypertension (OHT) and develop a preoperative predictive model for post-DMEK OHT.
Methods: Patients who underwent DMEK at Gangnam Severance Hospital between 2017 and 2024 were included in the study.

Effective storage and utilization of limited donor corneal resources are in high demand to alleviate the shortage of donor corneal tissue. Here, we designed a static air-lifted organ culture system equipped with a protective coverage membrane, namely, an air-lifted OC-P system, to provide a biomimetic physiological environment for full-thickness corneal preservation. The air-lifted OC-P system features a unique collagen-based protective coverage membrane that can offer a moist, oxygen-rich environment for corneal epithelium, produce an appropriate intraocular pressure onto the cornea by gravity, and facilitate the maintenance of the organ culture medium level for nutrient supply during corneal preservation.
