Computed tomographic (CT) angiography is rapidly becoming the preferred imaging test for the initial evaluation of patients suspected to have arterial injuries after blunt and penetrating trauma to the extremities. The increasingly widespread use of 64-row multidetector CT technology offers considerable benefits in extremity CT angiography in the trauma setting. These include the ability to generate isotropic data sets of long vascular territories, with the acquisition performed in a short time (10 seconds or less). Isotropic voxels make CT a fully multiplanar modality, a capability that is particularly useful for evaluating tortuous vessels. Sixty-four-row multidetector CT angiography of the extremities has the ability to demonstrate a variety of vascular injuries such as occlusion, pseudoaneurysm, active extravasation, and intimal dissection. Radiologists should be aware of the various potential pitfalls and limitations of extremity CT angiography in evaluation of trauma patients suspected to have extremity vascular injuries, including inadequate arterial enhancement, motion artifact, inadequate positioning, and streak artifact. By demonstrating the extent, location, and type of injury, CT angiography aids in the decision-making process to determine the appropriate management for each injury in each patient.

Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is an essential part of the diagnosis of chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) in patients with low-to-intermediate pre-test probability. The minimum technical requirement is 64-row multidetector CT (64-MDCT), which is still frequently used, although it is prone to motion artifacts because of its limited temporal resolution and z-coverage. In this study, we evaluate the potential of a deep-learning-based motion correction algorithm (MCA) to eliminate these motion artifacts.

Background: Previous studies have shown that neo-commissural orientation of transcatheter heart valve (THV) can influence coronary obstruction during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), long-term durability of THV, and coronary artery access for reintervention after TAVR. Purpose: Several effective radiation dose reduction methods have been developed for coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA); however, their use in daily clinical practice remains unknown. We aimed to investigate radiation exposure and the utilization of dose-saving strategies for coronary CTA in hospitals in Mie Prefecture, Japan.

Background: Lung cancer represents a heterogeneous group of neoplasms, with the highest frequency and mortality in both sexes combined. In a clinical scenario characterized by the widespread of multidetector-row spiral CT, core-needle biopsy under tomographic guidance is one of the main and safest methods to obtain tissue specimens, even though there are relatively high rates of pneumothorax (0-60% incidence) and pulmonary hemorrhage (4-27% occurrence rates). The aim of this retrospective study is to assess the diagnostic accuracy of CT-guided core-needle biopsy in the diagnosis of primary lung malignancies and to compare our results with evidence from the literature.
