The escalating global demand for meat products has intensified ecological concerns, underscoring the need for sustainable meat alternatives. Although current methods effectively imitate ground meat, mimicking whole cuts, which constitute 54% of the global market, remains challenging due to the lack of scalable technology. Injection molding is a massively scalable manufacturing technology developed for the polymer industry.

Objective: Stereotactic neuromodulation, such as deep brain stimulation (DBS) and responsive neurostimulation (RNS), have emerged as some of the more promising means for managing drug-resistant epilepsy. This study serves as a comprehensive analysis of DBS of the anterior nucleus of the thalamus (ANT), centromedian thalamic nucleus (CMT), and hippocampus and RNS for seizure reduction in adult intractable epilepsy.

Methods: Following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, a systematic review was conducted of PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase databases from January 2000 to January 2024 to objectively assess the effectiveness of the various neuromodulation modalities on seizure reduction.

Introduction: ChatGPT has been increasingly utilized to create, simplify, and revise hand surgery patient education materials. While significant research has examined the quality and readability of ChatGPT-derived hand surgery patient education, the patient perspective has not previously been evaluated. This study compared patient reported clarity and readability grades as well as patient preferences for carpal tunnel surgery educational information from medical education websites and ChatGPT.

A Double-Blind Randomized Crossover Trial Comparing the Esthetic Outcomes Of CAD-CAM Provisional Restorations Fabricated Using CBCT And IOS Acquisition Methods.

December 2024

Professor and Clinic director, Clinic of General-, Special Care- and Geriatric Dentistry, Center for Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Zurich Switzerland. Electronic address:

Objectives: This double-blind randomised crossover trial aimed to compare the aesthetic outcomes of CAD-CAM manufactured provisional restorations created using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and intraoral scanners (IOS) acquisition methods.

Methods: Twelve participants (mean-age: 38 ± 5 years) requiring full mouth rehabilitation were included in this crossover trial. Two sets of identical CAD-CAM provisional restorations, differing only in the method of data acquisition (A: CBCT, B: IOS), were fabricated.

Study Question: Are live birth rates (LBRs) per woman following flexible progestin-primed ovarian stimulation (fPPOS) treatment non-inferior to LBRs per woman following the conventional GnRH-antagonist protocol in expected suboptimal responders undergoing freeze-all cycles in assisted reproduction treatment?

Summary Answer: In women expected to have a suboptimal response, the 12-month likelihood of live birth with the fPPOS treatment did not achieve the non-inferiority criteria when compared to the standard GnRH antagonist protocol for IVF/ICSI treatment with a freeze-all strategy.

What Is Known Already: The standard PPOS protocol is effective for ovarian stimulation, where medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) is conventionally administered in the early follicular phase for ovulatory suppression. Recent retrospective cohort studies on donor cycles have shown the potential to prevent premature ovulation and maintain oocyte yields by delaying the administration of MPA until the midcycle (referred to as fPPOS), similar to GnRH antagonist injections.
