Human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) contain multipotent postnatal stem cells that can differentiate into PDL fibroblasts, osteoblasts, and cementoblasts. Interaction between the extracellular environment and stem cells is an important factor for differentiation into other progenitor cells. To identify cell surface molecules that induce PDL fibroblastic differentiation, we developed a series of monoclonal antibodies against membrane/ECM molecules.

Monastrol is the best-known small compound from the dihydropyrimidinones/thiones (DHPMs) heterocycle family, a cell-permeable molecule recognized as an inhibitor of mitotic kinesin Eg5, that is over-expressed in tumor cells and is a very promising target for the development of new drugs for cancer. The lipophilic properties of the DHPMs have been demonstrated to be of pivotal importance in the design of new molecules. This work describes the synthesis and antitumoral activity of novel C5-substituted fatty-DHPMs against breast and gastric cancer cell lines.

The explicit identification of CD8 T cell subpopulation is important for deciphering the role of CD8 T cells for protecting our body against invading pathogens and cancer. Our generated monoclonal antibody (mAb), named FE-1H10, recognized two novel subpopulations of peripheral blood CD8 T cells, FE-1H10 and FE-1H10 CD8 T cells. The molecule recognized by mAb FE-1H10 (FE-1H10 molecules) had a higher distribution on effector memory CD8 T cell subsets.

Bruton tyrosine kinases (BTKs) play critical roles in various diseases, including chronic lymphatic leukemia (CLL), Waldenström Macroglobulinemia, Marginal Zone Lymphoma, Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), and Graft Versus Host diseases. BTKs are a family of tyrosine kinases involved in B lymphocyte signal transduction, development, and maturation. Their overexpression can lead to cancer as they are essential for the activation of the B Cell Receptor (BCR) signaling pathway.

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), one of the biological anions, plays a crucial role in several biological processes including energy transduction, cellular respiration, enzyme catalysis and signaling. ATP is a bioactive phosphate molecule, recognized as an important extracellular signaling agent. Apart from serving as a universal energy currency for various cellular events, ATP is also considered a factor responsible for numerous physiological activities.
