A 68-year-old woman had an abrupt onset of severe headache, nausea, vertigo, difficulty in standing and dysarthria. A CT scan of the brain disclosed bilateral symmetrical round infarctions involving the middle cerebellar peduncles. She exhibited marked limb ataxia, gait ataxia, dysarthria and transient gaze nystagmus. Occlusion of the right vertebral artery associated with a stenosis of the basilar artery just proximal to the origin of the anterior inferior cerebellar arteries shown in angiograms were thought to be the cause.

In recent years, an increasing number of reports have described invasive infections caused by bacteria from (SAGs). seems to be more related with pleuropulmonary infections and abscess of the brain and deep soft tissues, and it is more likely to cause suppurative and non-bacteremic infections compared to other members of the same genus. We present two clinical cases of invasive infections in pediatric patients: a liver abscess case and a pansinusitis case associated with bilateral otomastoiditis and parapharyngeal abscess complicated by acute mediastinitis, thrombophlebitis of the cavernous sinus, and thrombosis of the cranial tract of the ipsilateral jugular vein.

This study describes two siblings from consanguineous parents who exhibit intellectual disability, microcephaly, photosensitivity, bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, numerous freckles, and other clinical features that suggest a potential disruption of the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway. Whole exome sequencing (WES) identified a novel homozygous missense variant in the gene, which was predicted to be pathogenic. However, a subsequent peculiar audiometric finding prompted further investigation, revealing a homozygous deletion in the gene linked to neurosensorial hearing loss.

The emergence of endometriosis-associated clear cell carcinoma (CCC) within the abdominal wall is a notably rare phenomenon. This condition predominantly impacts females who have previously undergone surgical interventions, including hysterectomy or caesarean section (C-section), with the malignant transformation of endometriosis within the post-surgical abdominal scar posited as a likely mechanism. Herein, we delineate a distinctive case of endometriosis-associated CCC emanating from the abdominal wall.

This comprehensive review examines the ocular vascular complications of cocaine use, focusing on its effects on retinal vasculature and inflammation. A rare case of bilateral frosted branch angiitis (FBA) in a 48-year-old man with a history of intranasal cocaine abuse is presented as an illustrative example to stimulate discussion. The case highlights severe retinal ischemia and vascular sheathing, with no identifiable infectious or autoimmune cause, ultimately complicated by systemic vascular events.

: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an effective treatment for movement disorders, but its long-term efficacy may be undermined by hardware complications such as lead fractures. These complications increase healthcare costs and necessitate surgical revisions. The frequency, timing, and clinical factors associated with lead fractures remain poorly understood.
