Objective: In this cross-sectional study, we compared frequency of hypermobility syndrome in pelvic organ prolapse (POP) patients and normal healthy Turkish women.
Methods: Sixty-five women who had diagnosed as POP and ward to surgery and 52 healthy women with similar age group were included into this study.
Results: It was found that subjects with POP had a significantly higher prevalence of joint hypermobility (53.8%) when compared with normal individuals (9.6%). No significant correlation was demonstrated between Beighton scores and incontinence, exercises pattern and hormone replacement therapy.
Conclusion: We concluded that joint laxity is associated with POP but not with urinary incontinence in Turkish women.

is a ubiquitous environmental fungus, and several osteomyelitis cases have been reported in recent years. We present the case of a woman in her 70s who sustained a comminuted open ankle fracture, with garden soil contamination of the wound, which was treated according to orthoplastic principles. The patient developed osteomyelitis 6 months postsurgery.

Medulloblastoma (MB), a heterogeneous pediatric brain tumor, poses challenges in the treatment of tumor recurrence and dissemination. To characterize cellular diversity and genetic features, we comprehensively analyzed single-cell/nucleus RNA sequencing (sc/snRNA-seq), single-nucleus assay for transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing (snATAC-seq), and spatial transcriptomics profiles and identified distinct cellular populations in SHH (sonic hedgehog) and Group_3 subgroups, with varying proportions in local recurrence or dissemination. Local recurrence showed higher cycling tumor cell enrichment, whereas disseminated lesions had a relatively notable presence of differentiated subsets.

Introduction: Spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia with joint laxity type 1 (SEMD-JL1) is an extremely rare skeletal dysplasia belonging to a group of disorders called linkeropathies. It is characterized by skeletal and connective tissue abnormalities. Biallelic variants in genes encoding enzymes that synthesize the tetrasaccharide linker region of glycosaminoglycans lead to linkeropathies, which exhibit clinical and phenotypic features that overlap with each other.

We aimed to assess the typical experiences, desired outcomes, satisfaction with clinical and anticipated outcomes, and the importance of improvements for individuals with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Generalized Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (G-HSD). A cross-sectional survey was conducted among adults aged 18 and above with hEDS and G-HSD. The survey included the Patient-Centered Outcome Questionnaire and an adapted version addressing common concerns in these individuals.

Introduction: Bony and ligamentous ankle injuries are some of the most commonly treated injuries by orthopedic surgeons. Open ligamentous ankle injuries without an associated fracture or dislocation are rare and to our knowledge have only sparsely been described in the literature. We present a case and successful treatment of an open lateral ankle injury with capsular rupture and ligamentous damage without fracture or dislocation in a 22-year-old female.
