Background: Hamartomas of the floor of the fourth ventricle (HFFVs) are rare lesions that cause a variety of symptoms, including hemifacial spasm (HFS). When symptomatic, these deep-seated lesions are traditionally treated via open surgical approaches. The authors describe successful laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) of an HFFV causing intractable HFS.

Denosumab produces a continuous increase in bone mineral density over ten years, associated with a low risk of vertebral and non-vertebral fractures. Denosumab is well tolerated and easy to manage in daily clinical practice. For all these reasons, this treatment has a huge success.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the 4-hook needle localization for pulmonary ground glass nodules (GGNs).

Methods: From November 1, 2021, to May 31, 2024, 194 patients were diagnosed with one or more GGNs by computed tomography (CT) scan and underwent preoperative CT-guided 4-hook needle localization followed by video-assisted thoracoscope surgery (VATS) wedge resection, segmentectomy or lobectomy. There were 226 nodules in all patients.

Background: The clinical success of the immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) has revolutionized cancer treatment. However, the full potential of PD-1 blockade therapy remains unrealized, as response rates are still low across many cancer types. Interleukin-2 (IL-2)-based immunotherapies hold promise, as they can stimulate robust T cell expansion and enhance effector function - activities that could synergize potently with PD-1 blockade.
