Background: The reproductive problem is an animal health-related bottleneck that constrains livestock genetic improvement efforts in tropical countries such as Ethiopia. The infectious causes of reproductive disorders are one cause of decreased reproductive efficiency. This study aimed to determine the seroprevalence to Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV1), Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV), Neospora caninum (N.

This study aimed to assess the geographical distribution of Q fever in sheep and goats in different areas of Punjab, Pakistan. Three hundred blood samples of small ruminants including sheep and goats were collected from 60 villages of three districts (Okara, Kasur, and Pakpattan) of Punjab Province Pakistan and tested for the detection of anti-Coxiella burnetii antibodies using a commercial Indirect ELISA kit. Data related to sampling location, host species, gender, age, and GPS coordinates were collected for spatial analysis.

Abortion is one of the major threats to the livestock industry, and it also poses significant threats to public health since some of the abortifacient agents are considered zoonotic. (), (), (), and Cache Valley virus (CVV) are recognized as important zoonotic and abortifacient agents of reproductive failure in small ruminants. This study determined the prevalence of these agents in ovine and caprine foetuses in Türkiye.

Article Synopsis
  • Infective endocarditis (IE) is a serious health issue, and this study investigates the presence of Coxiella burnetii and Bartonella spp. in heart valves in Iran.
  • The research examined 146 patients who had heart valve surgery and found C. burnetii in 12 patients and Bartonella quintana in 15 patients, with two new C. burnetii genotypes identified.
  • The study suggests that more research is needed to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment methods for Q fever endocarditis and Bartonella endocarditis.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers have identified a rising trend of zoonotic diseases in Zambia, a key transport hub in Southern Africa, where numerous pathogens from bats, rodents, and non-human primates pose public health risks.
  • A review of studies from 1990 to 2022 found that viruses were the most reported pathogens, with notable threats including Ebola, Marburg, and Hantavirus, though many findings are based on short-term investigations.
  • The study highlights a significant lack of surveillance for these diseases in humans and emphasizes the urgent need for improved monitoring and preventive measures to mitigate emerging infectious risks in the region.
