We report one case of very severe acne-like lesions associated with amineptine (Survector). They were most prominent on the face and back, but were also observed on sites not affected by acne vulgaris, such as perineum, arms and legs. The lesions appeared after long-term self-medication of high doses. Keratoacanthoma-like lesions were also present, and the small ones were successfully treated with topical imiquimod. The case is significant since the disease is quite rare.

Acne and acne sequelae can have an important impact on patients' quality of life, affecting interpersonal relationships and social functioning. Acne-induced scars (AIS) and acne-induced macular hyperpigmentation (AIH), in particular, are a major concern for patients with acne, as their management is challenging and often unsatisfactory. Retinoids are considered the mainstay of acne treatment because of their action on multiple pathogenetic factors, and there is increasing evidence that they can also improve AIS and AIH.

Cannabichromene (CBC) is one of the main cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and although less well known than tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), it is gaining attention for its potential therapeutic benefits. To date, CBC's known mechanisms of action include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, neuroprotective, and anti-acne effects through TRP channel activation and the inhibition of inflammatory pathways, suggesting that it may have therapeutic potential in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis (AD), but its exact mechanism of action remains unclear. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effects of CBC on Th2 cytokines along with the Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways involved in AD pathogenesis.

Acne is a chronic dermatologic disorder that can require long-term treatment. To prevent recurrence after oral treatment for severe acne, topical maintenance treatment is recommended; however, there is little guidance or research on maintenance regimens. This article briefly summarizes literature on oral isotretinoin and topical retinoids and presents a case series of patients who received tazarotene 0.

Background: Topical retinoids, while renowned for their efficacy in treating acne vulgaris, are often hampered by inter-individual variability in tolerability. This challenge, primarily driven by side effects like erythema, scaling, and dryness, significantly impacts patient adherence and, ultimately, treatment outcomes.
Aims: This prospective, multi-center, observational study investigated the novel role of a specific dermocosmetic regimen as adjunctive therapy, focusing on its ability to mitigate retinoid-induced side effects and enhance the overall tolerability of acne treatment regimens in a Korean population.
