Palpation is a widely used diagnostic method in medical practice. The sensitivity of palpation is highly dependent upon the skill of clinicians, which is often difficult to master. There is a need of simulators in palpation training. This paper summarizes important work and the latest achievements in simulation for palpation training. Three types of simulators; physical models, Virtual Reality (VR) based simulations, and hybrid (computerized and physical) simulators, are surveyed. Comparisons among different kinds of simulators are presented.

Background: Cognitive integration occurs when trainees make conceptual connections between relevant knowledges and is known to improve learning. While several experimental studies have demonstrated how text and audio-visual instruction can be designed to enhance cognitive integration, clinical skills training in real-world contexts may require alternative educational strategies. Introducing three-dimensional (3D) printed models during clinical skills instruction may offer unique learning opportunities to support cognitive integration.

Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) usually affects the maxillary and mandibular branches of the fifth cranial nerve. Although the condition is primarily unilateral, few cases of bilateral manifestation have been reported. TN is uncommon; however, it significantly affects patients' quality of life because the neuropathic pain worsens over time.

The gagging reflex during dental treatment is a common concern for dentists and patients. Herein, we describe a novel approach to managing severe gagging reflex, termed the "KOJIMA program," using a systematic desensitization technique combined with an ultrasound-guided selective glossopharyngeal nerve block (UGSGNB). After performing the UGSGNB, the participants were trained to touch the inside of their mouths with a cotton swab.

Background: While the line joining the posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) intersects a relatively stable sacral vertebra, it does not directly facilitate the localization of lumbar interspace or assist in the positioning for neuraxial anesthesia. Our study aimed to explore the potential of the PSIS line as a reference point and to determine its practical applicability in clinical settings.
Methods: We consecutively enrolled pregnant women with gestational ages ranging from 24 to 38 weeks scheduled for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination.
