The results of the surgical treatment of 175 patients with conglomerate forms of adhesive ileus are analyzed. The bypass jejuno(ileo)transversoanastomosis was necessitated in 79 patients. This allowed decrease the rate of postoperative complications and lethality. 31 patients were subjected to the long-term follow-up. Good and satisfactory results were achieved in 93,5% of operated patients.

Hydraulic fracturing, which forms complex fracture networks, is a common technique for efficiently exploiting low-permeability conglomerate reservoirs. However, the presence of gravel makes conglomerate highly heterogeneous, endowing the deformation, failure, and internal micro-scale fracture expansion mechanisms with uniqueness. The mechanism of fracture expansion when encountering gravel in conglomerate reservoirs remains unclear, challenging the design and effective implementation of hydraulic fracturing.

Patient-derived tumor organoids (PDTOs) models have been widely used to investigate the response of primary cancer tissues to anti-cancer agents. Nonetheless, only few case study tried to establish PDTOs and test treatment response based on bone metastasis (BoM) tissues. Fresh BoM tissues were obtained from lung cancer (LC) patients who underwent spinal metastatic tumor surgery for PDTOs culture.

Banded iron formations (BIFs) archive the relationship between Earth's lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere through time. However, constraints on the origin of Earth's largest ore deposits, hosted by BIFs, are limited by the absence of direct geochronology. Without this temporal context, genetic models cannot be correlated with tectono-thermal and atmospheric drivers responsible for BIF upgrading through time.

Brown tumors, an exceptional bone complication of severe primary (PHP) or renal (secondary) hyperparathyroidism (RHP), are caused by long-standing, elevated parathormone (PTH)-induced osteoclast activation causing multinucleated giant cell conglomerates with hemosiderin deposits in addition to the local production of cytokines and growth factors. We aim to present an adult case series including two females displaying this complication as part of a multidisciplinary complex panel in high PTH-related ailments. The approach was different since they had distinct medical backgrounds and posed a wide area of challenges amid real-life settings, namely, a 38-year-old lady with PHP and long-term uncontrolled hypercalcemia (with a history of pregnancy-associated PHP, the removal of a cystic jaw tumor, as well as a family and personal positive diagnosis of polycystic kidney disease, probably a PHP-jaw tumor syndrome), as well as, a 26-year-old woman with congenital single kidney and chronic renal disease-associated RHP who was poorly controlled under dialysis and developed severe anemia and episodes of metabolic acidosis (including one presentation that required emergency hemodialysis and was complicated with convulsive seizures, followed by resuscitated respiratory arrest).

Drug-induced nephrolithiasis represents only 1%-2% of stone cases. Here we focus on drugs capable of crystallizing and forming stone, specifically phenazopyridine (Pyridium/Azo). This is a case of a patient who presented with a stone conglomerate in the right proximal ureter and underwent definitive treatment.
