Introduction: Electrophysiologic (EP) procedures are typically performed via the femoral venous system, but in some patients, the inferior vena cava (IVC) is unavailable. The hepatic vein has emerged as a viable alternative to femoral access, providing an inferior route that accommodates large sheaths required for better catheter manipulation. Although the percutaneous transhepatic approach has been used successfully in the pediatric population, its use in adults is scarce, with a complication rate of approximately 5%.

Purpose: Hematological toxicities (HTs) in lung cancer (LCa) may compromise the delivery of Radio-Chemotherapy (RTCT), and consequently affect the control of the disease. The aim of this study is to evaluate the association of Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with HT.
Material/methods: In this prospective multicentre study, 264 patients with primary LCa treated with RTCT between 2012 and 2018 were included.

The past two decades have shown an increase in PCP incidence; however, the underlying factors that promote disease severity and fatality have yet to be fully elucidated. Recent evidence suggests that the microbiota of the respiratory tract may play a role in stimulating or repressing pulmonary inflammation, as well as the progression of both bacterial and viral pneumonia.

: The Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) is designed for evaluating comorbidities and mortality risks, with the age-adjusted CCI (ACCI) combining age and comorbidity assessments. Despite its long-standing use, research on CCI's application in cardiac surgery patients is limited. This study assessed the effectiveness of CCI and ACCI in predicting in-hospital mortality and post-surgery outcomes for patients undergoing isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
