To identify the incidence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection, reinfection and clinical outcomes. Four hundred forty-six patients that were admitted to the hospital with moderate or severe foot infections were retrospectively reviewed. Tissue and bone cultures were obtained from the index hospital admission.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the clinical impact of the Intelligent Antimicrobial System (iAMS) on patients with bacteraemia due to methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA).
Methods: A total of 1008 patients with suspected SA infection were enrolled before and after the implementation of iAMS. Among them, 252 with bacteraemia caused by SA, including 118 in the iAMS and 134 in the non-iAMS groups, were evaluated.

Background: The impact of preoperative nasal colonization with methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) on total joint arthroplasty (TJA) outcomes is not well understood. This study aimed to evaluate complications following TJA based on patients' preoperative staphylococcal colonization status.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed all patients undergoing primary TJA between 2011 and 2022 who completed a preoperative nasal culture swab for staphylococcal colonization.

Background: Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is a significant nosocomial pathogen in the ICU. MRSA contamination of healthcare personnel (HCP) gloves and gowns after providing care to patients with MRSA occurs at a rate of 14%-16% in the ICU setting. Little is known about whether the MRSA isolates identified on HCP gown and gloves following patient care activities are the same as MRSA isolates identified as colonizing or infecting the patient.

In preterm and term infants who require intermediate or intensive care Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection can lead to significant morbidity. In this study MRSA colonization and infection were assessed in a mixed tertiary neonatal intensive and intermediate care unit in Germany over an 8-year period (2013-2020). We investigated patient-related factors, associated with nosocomial MRSA acquisition, and we discuss our infection control concept for MRSA.
