Bipolar and monopolar surface electromyography (sEMG) are known procedures to measure the H-reflex. However, signal cancellation is a potential experimental problem of bipolar sEMG. The results of our study show that monopolar sEMG was the more sensitive procedure to differentiate motoneuron excitability at different passive muscle stretching speeds as it overcame signal cancellation.

Background: Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) is an innovative non-thermal method for arrhythmia treatment. The efficacy of various PFA configurations in relation to contact force (CF) has not been well-studied in vivo.
Objectives: This study evaluated the effect of CF on acute bipolar PFA lesions in both a vegetal and an in vivo porcine heart model.

Microfocused ultrasound (MFU) and (MRF) are non-invasive modalities widely used for skin rejuvenation and are often combined with injectables, including neuromodulators and soft tissue fillers. However, large-scale, long-term safety data on such combination therapies are lacking. To address this gap, we conducted a retrospective chart review at two private practice dermatology clinics in South Korea from June 2005 to December 2023.

Surface electromyography (sEMG) is useful for studying muscle function and controlling prosthetics, but cross talk from nearby muscles often limits its effectiveness. High-density surface EMG (HD-sEMG) improves spatial resolution, allowing for the isolation of M-waves in the densely packed forearm muscles. This study assessed HD-sEMG for localizing M-waves and evaluated the impact of spatial filters on cross talk reduction.

Differentiating dipoles (tangential generators) from monopoles (radial generators) in routine EEG reading can be difficult. The polarity of sharp waves seen on surface EEG will change depending on the generator being located at the wall of the sulcus versus the crown of a gyrus. In this article, the authors introduce visual rules that may be used to determine polarity and estimate the localization of potentials during analysis of the EEG.

Methods: We have recorded the kinematics and kinetics of the hand during a wide range of grasps and individual digit movements that cover 22 degrees of freedom of the hand at slow (0.
