Using pain pumps, the author has been successful in reducing postoperative pain after breast augmentation and abdominoplasty. Further, patients ambulate sooner, which reduces the risk of deep vein thrombosis, and more fully expand their lungs, which averts a compromise in pulmonary function.

This case report discusses a 32-year-old woman with no significant medical history who underwent elective bilateral breast reduction with auto-augmentation and abdominoplasty. Initially, her recovery was smooth, but on the third postoperative day, she exhibited tachycardia, tachypnea, and mild shortness of breath, while other vital signs remained stable. A chest X-ray revealed pneumoperitoneum, and a subsequent abdominal CT confirmed moderate pneumoperitoneum without gastrointestinal leakage.

Background: The interplay between gut microbiota and immune responses is crucial in ulcerative colitis (UC). Though Akkermansia muciniphila (Akk) shows therapeutic potential, the mechanisms remain unclear. This study sought to investigate differences in therapeutic efficacy among different forms or strains of Akk and elucidate the underlying mechanisms.

Tumor-specific cytotoxic T cell immunity is critically dependent on effective antigen presentation and sustained signal transduction. However, this immune response is frequently compromised by the inherently low immunogenicity of breast cancer and the deficiency in major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) expression. Herein, a chimeric peptide-engineered stoichiometric polyprodrug (PDPP) is fabricated to potentiate the cytotoxic T cell response, characterized by a high drug loading capacity and precise stoichiometric drug ratio, of which the immunogenic cell death (ICD) inducer of protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) and the epigenetic drug of decitabine (DAC) are condensed into a polyprodrug called PpIX-DAC.

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women worldwide. Although large language models (LLMs) can provide breast cancer nursing care consultation, inherent hallucinations can lead to inaccurate responses. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology can improve LLM performance, offering a new approach for clinical applications.

Transgender individuals commonly feel significant distress and discomfort, termed gender dysphoria, as a result of the discrepancy between their gender assigned at birth and their gender identity. A major source of gender dysphoria stems from distinct anatomical differences between the male and female chest. Gender-affirming mastectomy of transmasculine patients and breast augmentation for chest feminization of transfeminine patients, also referred to as top surgery, are often the first surgical interventions and most commonly pursued physical modifications for the treatment of gender dysphoria among this patient population.
