Tamoxifen, a common adjuvant therapy for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, is associated with an increased risk of endometrial pathologies, such as hyperplasia, polyps, and carcinoma. This study investigates rapamycin, an mTOR inhibitor, as a potential novel strategy for preventing tamoxifen-induced endometrial proliferation. This in vitro study utilised endometrial stromal cells isolated from infertile women.

Introduction: Fishhook injuries are a common occurrence among anglers. There are no guidelines for prophylactic antibiotic use after fishhook removal. This study analyzed the management of embedded fishhooks, prophylactic antibiotic use, and complication rate at a Michigan county emergency department to observe whether antibiotic use changes patient outcome.

Currently there is not a clear basis of evidence for post-operative antibiotic duration in spine surgery. A better understanding of risk factors and proper dosing for antibiotics will help improve outcomes and further define appropriate antibiotic use. A single-center retrospective cohort study of all patients undergoing spinal fusions and/or decompressions between January 1, 2018, and July 1, 2023 was performed.
