Mammary carcinoid is an uncommon neoplasm. It is not clear whether mammary carcinoid is a distinct clinical entity or a variant of conventional breast carcinoma. It is well-known that neuroendocrine elements can be demonstrated in ductal and lobular carcinoma. In the study a rare case of neuroendocrine breast tumor is reported. The patient is a 45-year-old woman with a history of a mass feeling in her left breast. Breast sonography identified 3 cm solid nodule with irregular margins. To verify the parameter set of the endocrine cells electron microscopical and histochemical staining were used. Invasive lobular carcinoma was diagnosed by means of microscopic evaluation of a biopsy specimen. Most of the areas studied on the tissue section showed neuroendocrine differentiation. Examination did not reveal any pathological findings in other organs. Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the breast exhibited morphological features similar to those of other etiology. Method of immune histochemical staining the cancer tissue is recommended for diagnostics of the breast cancer. Diagnosis cannot be established based on mammographic or sonographic appearance of these tumors.

Leading societies have established guidelines that vary significantly regarding recommendations for the surgical management of pulmonary carcinoids (PC). We aimed to assess current guidelines and recommendations for PC surgical management, benchmark their methodological quality, and identify factors that may influence their effectiveness in guiding surgical practice. Literature was sought to identify relevant guidelines for the management of PC.

Introduction: Choroidal metastases from systemic malignancies are the most common intraocular malignancies in adults. External beam radiation (EBR) has historically been first-line therapy for metastatic tumors to the choroid. However, good responses have been described with newer targeted biologics.

Background: Celiac disease (CeD) is an autoimmune disorder triggered by the immune response to gluten in genetically predisposed individuals. Recent research has unveiled a heightened risk of developing specific malignant neoplasms (MN) and various malignancies, including gastrointestinal, lymphomas, skin, and others, in individuals with CeD.

Aim: To investigate the prevalence of MN in hospitalized CeD patients in the United States.

Background: Retroperitoneal fibrosis, a condition of uncertain origin, is rarely linked to 8% of malignant cases, including breast, lung, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thyroid, and carcinoid. The mechanism leading to peritoneal fibrosis induced by tumors is not well understood, possibly encompassing direct infiltration of neoplastic cells or the initiation of inflammatory responses prompted by cytokines released by tumor cells. We report a case of breast cancer with renal metastasis and retroperitoneal fibrosis detected using F-FDG PET/CT, providing help for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
