: We previously demonstrated that the intranasal administration of cell-penetrating Tat peptide-modified carrier, PEG-PCL-Tat, improves drug delivery to the central nervous system. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of the post-onset intranasal administration of -acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) combined with PEG-PCL-Tat (NAC/PPT) for neuropathic pain. : Neuropathic pain was induced by partial sciatic nerve ligation (PSNL) in mice.

Nanotherapeutics for Meningitis: Enhancing Drug Delivery Across the Blood-Brain Barrier.

Biomimetics (Basel)

Meningitis is the acute or chronic inflammation of the protective membranes, surrounding the brain and spinal cord, and this inflammatory process spreads throughout the subarachnoid space. The traditional drug delivery methods pose a disadvantage in limiting the capacity of crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to reach the central nervous system (CNS). Hence, it is imperative to develop novel approaches that can overcome these constraints and offer efficient therapy for meningitis.

This report details the case of a 29-year-old male patient who presented at a tertiary-level trauma centre with multiple stab wounds to the face, chest, and back. Despite not undergoing surgical intervention or exhibiting any apparent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage during the initial evaluation. The patient's condition deteriorated, with subsequent cultures from CSF and blood confirmed extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Acinetobacter baumannii (A.

Deer antler blastema progenitor cells (ABPCs) are promising for regenerative medicine due to their role in annual antler regeneration, the only case of complete organ regeneration in mammals. ABPC-derived signals show great potential for promoting regeneration in tissues with limited natural regenerative ability. Our findings demonstrate the capability of extracellular vesicles from ABPCs (EVs) to repair spinal cord injury (SCI), a condition with low regenerative capacity.

Study Design: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Objective: This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of surgical and endovascular treatments for SDAVFs.

Summary Of Background Data: Spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs) result from an abnormal connection between the radiculomeningeal artery and the radicular vein, leading to venous hypertension and potential neurological damage.
