Efficacy of Immunotherapy for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome: A Narrative Review.

Curr Pain Headache Rep

January 2025

Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA, 02215, USA.

Purpose Of Review: Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic condition characterized by disproportional pain typically affecting an extremity. Management of CRPS is centered around specific symptomatology, which tends to be a combination of autonomic dysfunction, nociceptive sensitization, chronic inflammation, and/or motor dysfunction. Targeting the autoimmune component of CRPS provides a way to both symptomatically treat as well as minimize progression of CRPS.

Aqueous Solubility of Sodium and Chloride Salts of Glycine─"Uncommon" Common-Ion Effects of Self-Titrating Solids.

Mol Pharm

January 2025

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, St. John's University, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens, New York 11439, United States.

Although glycine is the simplest of the amino acids, its solution and solid-state properties are far from straightforward. The aqueous solubility of glycine plays an important role in various applications, including nutrition, food products, biodegradable plastics, and drug development. There is evidence that glycine in subsaturated pH 3-8 solutions forms a dimer, as suggested by several techniques.

Swedish Warmblood horses (SWB) are bred for show jumping and/or dressage with young horse test scores as indicator traits. This study aimed to investigate possible candidate genes and regions of importance for evaluated and linearly scored young horse test traits. A single-step genome-wide association study (ssGWAS) was done using the BLUPF90 suite of programs for factors scores from factor analysis of traits assessed at young horse tests together with height at withers.

Objective: To evaluate the worldwide use of FIGO's two systems for the classification of causes and contributors to nongestational abnormal uterine bleeding in the reproductive years by obstetrics and gynecology professionals worldwide, to identify knowledge gaps, and explore barriers to implementation.

Methods: An electronic survey was developed by members of FIGO's Menstrual Disorders and Related Health Impacts (MDRHI) Committee to assess knowledge of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) and the two FIGO AUB systems among obstetricians and gynecologists. The survey was conducted online from February 28 to June 30, 2023, and comprised demographic questions, educational content inquiries, and a knowledge assessment.

Thermodynamic Stability in Transition Metal-Hydrogen Dications: Potential Energy Curves, Spectroscopic Parameters, and Bonding for VH.

J Comput Chem

January 2025

Universidade de São Paulo, Instituto de Química, Departamento de Química Fundamental, São Paulo, Brazil.

Seventeen electronic states of the dication VH were characterized by the SA-CASSCF/icMRCI methodology using very extended basis sets; 11 were described for the first time. Potential energy curves were constructed and the associated spectroscopic parameters evaluated. Triplet and quintet states correlating with the V + H channel are thermodynamic stable.
