We formulate and demonstrate experimentally the high-resolution spectral method based on Bloch-wave symmetry properties for extracting mode dispersion in periodic waveguides from measurements of near-field profiles. We characterize both the propagating and evanescent modes, and also determine the amplitudes of forward and backward waves in different waveguide configurations, with the estimated accuracy of several percent or less. Whereas the commonly employed spatial Fourier-transform (SFT) analysis provides the wavenumber resolution which is limited by the inverse length of the waveguide, we achieve precise dispersion extraction even for compact photonic structures.

: The synthesis of fluoridated apatite consists of several stages, among which the heat treatment has a significant impact on the physical and chemical properties. The present study aims to elucidate the influence of two different sintering methods on fluoride-substituted apatite properties. : For this purpose, a two F-substituted apatites were produced by heat treatment in different ways called "rapid sintering" and "slow sintering".

The applicability of cellulose and its derivatives is greatly depends on their attributes such as aspect ratio, morphology, surface chemistry, crystallinity, as well as their thermal and mechanical properties. However, these attributes can alter according to the utilized raw material, size classifications, extraction techniques, or fibrillation methods. Among these, the effect of raw material particle size on cellulose properties has received limited attention in scientific studies.

Introduction: Mitochondria are essential organelles that provide energy for plants. They are semi-autonomous, maternally inherited, and closely linked to cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) in plants. , a widely used medicinal plant from the Caprifoliaceae family, is rich in chlorogenic acid (CGA) and its analogues, which are known for their antiviral and anticancer properties.

Numerous unregulated organic compounds (UOCs) including pharmaceuticals, opioids, and personal care products (PCPs) end up in wastewater. UOC presence in biosolids (a wastewater treatment byproduct), which are applied to soil for different reasons raises environmental and health risk concerns. In this study, two multi-class extraction methods were developed and validated to target 111 UOCs from 8 different major families simultaneously in biosolids and biosolids-impacted soil.

Monitoring of p-nitrophenol (PNP) and 3-methyl-4-nitrophenol (PNMC) in human urine and environmental water is of great importance for human health assessment and environmental protection, as they are both urinary metabolites of some poisonous pesticides and priority environmental pollutants. However, efficient extraction of trace levels of PNP and PNMC from complex matrices remains challenging. This study presented the synthesis of histidine-modified ZIF-90 on natural eggshell membrane (ESM@His-ZIF-90) via a facile one-step in-situ growth strategy, and its application as an adsorbent for dispersive membrane extraction (DME) of PNP and PNMC in human urine and environmental water.
