Background: The C-reactive protein-triglyceride glucose index (CTI) is a promising new marker for evaluating the severity of inflammation. Endometriosis (EM) is a prevalent chronic inflammatory condition influenced by estrogen, primarily affecting women of reproductive age. However, no study has demonstrated an association between the CTI and EM.

Objectives: The relationship between sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) intake and phenotypic age acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) is unclear. The aim of this study was to explore the associations between the energy and timing of SSB intake and PhenoAgeAccel in adults.

Methods: A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007-2010, which involved U.

Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 ameliorates cardiac hypertrophy by regulating CTSD/HSP90α signaling during pressure overload.

Acta Pharmacol Sin

Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Zhongshan Hospital, State Key Laboratory of Cardiovascular Diseases, NHC Key Laboratory of Ischemic Heart Diseases, and Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai, 200032, China.

Pressure overload induces pathological cardiac remodeling, including cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis, resulting in cardiac dysfunction or heart failure. Recently, we observed that the low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 (LRP6), has shown potential in enhancing cardiac function by mitigating cardiac fibrosis in a mouse model subjected to pressure overload. In this study, we investigated the role of LRP6 as a potential modulator of pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy and elucidated the underlying molecular mechanisms.

Bladeless wind turbines face operational limitations due to the lock-in phenomenon. This study introduces two novel mechanisms for designing bladeless wind turbines to address this issue, enabling operation across a broad wind speed range from 2 to 10 m/s while ensuring that lock-in conditions are satisfied at any wind speed within this range. The study aims to maintain optimal performance without any decline that is observed in conventional bladeless wind turbines by controlling the turbine's natural frequency through implementing these mechanisms, either by adjusting the effective length of the stand or by incorporating an additional mass in the hollow mast, or both.

The TRIPOD-LLM reporting guideline for studies using large language models.

Nat Med

January 2025

Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Program, Mass General Brigham, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA.

Large language models (LLMs) are rapidly being adopted in healthcare, necessitating standardized reporting guidelines. We present transparent reporting of a multivariable model for individual prognosis or diagnosis (TRIPOD)-LLM, an extension of the TRIPOD + artificial intelligence statement, addressing the unique challenges of LLMs in biomedical applications. TRIPOD-LLM provides a comprehensive checklist of 19 main items and 50 subitems, covering key aspects from title to discussion.
