A shape auxiliary approach for the synthesis of shape-controlled gold nanocrystals with functional moieties is established; carboxylate-functionalized gold polyhedra were successfully synthesized in a one-pot reaction in the presence of poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate), which contains the dimethylaminoethyl group as a shape auxiliary.

Background: Trichofolliculoma (TF) is a rare condition, and its imaging features have been inadequately studied, leading to frequent misdiagnoses in clinical practice.
Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate the very high frequency (VHF) ultrasound characteristics of TF, identify features that could assist in the differential diagnosis of TF versus other benign and malignant lesions.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 24 patients with histologically confirmed TF between February 2019 and June 2024.

Multi-modal medical images are important in tumor lesion detection. However, the existing detection models only use single-modal to detect lesions, a multi-modal semantic correlation is not enough to consider and lacks ability to express the shape, size, and contrast degree features of lesions. Wire-arc-directed energy deposition (WA-DED) stands out as a highly efficient and adaptable technology for near-net-shaped metal manufacturing, with promising application prospects. However, the shape control capability of this technology is relatively underdeveloped, necessitating further refinement. This review summarizes the latest advancements in the shape control of WA-DED technology, covering four pivotal areas: the regulation of various process parameters, optimization of the deposition paths, control through auxiliary energy and mechanical fields, and synergy between additive and subtractive manufacturing approaches.
