In chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) and common marmosets (Callithrix jacchus), left-handed individuals are less likely than right-handed individuals to explore new objects and situations, suggesting a relationship between the hemispheric specialization of emotional states and motor function. To further explore this relationship and to test the hypothesis that fearfulness is related to hand preference, we assessed willingness to approach, sniff, and taste novel foods, and the duration of freeze reactions in response to hawk calls, in 18 Geoffroy's marmosets (Callithrix geoffroyi). In accordance with these hypotheses, left-handed marmosets were slower to explore novel foods and slower to emerge from a freeze response than right-handed marmosets. Hand preference and at least some features of temperament seem to be related in this and other species of primates.

Background: Gigantomastia is a disabling condition characterized by excess breast tissue. Historically, free nipple graft (FNG) has been preferred, prioritizing the nipple-areola complex (NAC) vascularity. The NAC-carrying pedicle technique, which is most commonly used in case of hypertrophy of the breast, has been suggested as a viable alternative for gigantomastia according to recent evidence, with reduced rates of NAC necrosis and improved outcomes.

Introduction The degree to which each human brain hemisphere governs specific cognitive processes, such as language and handedness (the preference or dominance of one hand over the other), varies across individuals. Research has explored the nature of language laterality in left-handed (LH) individuals, indicating that left-hemisphere dominance for language is commonly observed across both left- and right-handed populations. Advanced imaging techniques, including functional transcranial Doppler sonography and fMRI, have revealed subtle differences in language lateralization between LH and right-handed (RH) individuals, particularly in semantic processing tasks.

Introduction: ChatGPT has been increasingly utilized to create, simplify, and revise hand surgery patient education materials. While significant research has examined the quality and readability of ChatGPT-derived hand surgery patient education, the patient perspective has not previously been evaluated. This study compared patient reported clarity and readability grades as well as patient preferences for carpal tunnel surgery educational information from medical education websites and ChatGPT.

Background: TransCarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) is a safe minimally invasive option for patients with carotid artery stenosis who are not appropriate candidates for carotid endarterectomy (CEA). Many physicians have not yet adopted this technique in the management of carotid artery stenosis. The aim of this study is to explore overall outcomes of carotid revascularization based on physicians' practices in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI).
