Background: Temporal facelift (TFL) is an innovative technique for lifting the upper and mid-face. It is characterized by a unique dissection plane above the subgaleal fascia, which seamlessly transitions into the sub-superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layer in the mid-face. This approach enables comprehensive mid-face elevation, robust canthopexy, and a significant brow lift in various vectors.

Purpose: The Achilles tendon is a common injury site, but anatomical risk factors for injury are relatively unexplored in the literature. This study aimed to evaluate whether changes in free tendon length would influence the results of a simulated rupture of the Achilles tendon.
Methods: Using a previously validated 3D finite element model of the free and aponeurotic Achilles tendon as a basis, two additional finite element models with 25% decreased and increased free tendon lengths were created.

Purpose: To determine the relationship between marginal reflex distance (MRD-1) outcomes and the distance of levator aponeurosis advancement.
Methods: This retrospective observational study included patients with acquired unilateral aponeurotic ptosis, who underwent small-incision anterior levator advancement. The distance of levator advancement, and intra-operative MRD-1 in the sitting position, were analyzed to determine a correlation between the two.

Background: Ptosis surgery is common in oculoplastics, and its most threatening complication is corneal ulceration. Several factors have been associated with postoperative corneal disorders, such as the strength of the orbicularis muscle, the type of surgery performed, and the Bell's phenomenon reflex (BPR). The goal of this study was to investigate the prevalence of physiological BPR, absence of BPR, and presence of inverse BP in patients undergoing surgery for aponeurotic ptosis.
