Inguinal endometriosis is a rare manifestation of endometriosis. Four cases are presented. In three of these cases proper diagnosis was delayed due to differential diagnostic difficulties as the symptoms in these cases were interpreted as hernia. In two cases the patient underwent hernia surgery. In inguinal lump cases in fertile women, endometriosis should be considered if accompanied by dysmenorrhoea or deep dyspareunia. In such cases MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans often yield further diagnostic information. If surgery is needed, it should be performed in a gynaecological setting to facilitate full surgical intervention including abdominal laparoscopy and excision.

Purpose: Epilepsia partialis continua (EPC) is form of focal motor status epilepticus, with limited guidelines regarding effective pharmacological management. This systematic review aimed to describe previously utilized pharmacological management strategies for EPC, with a focus on patient outcomes.
Methods: A systematic review of the databases PubMed, EMBASE, and SCOPUS was performed from inception to May 2024.

Objectives: There have been conflicting reports about the frequency of neural autoantibodies in epilepsy cohorts, which is confounded by the lack of clear distinction of epilepsy from acute symptomatic seizures due to encephalitis. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of neural autoantibodies in a well characterised population of refractory focal epilepsy of known and unknown cause.
Methods: Cases were recruited from epilepsy outpatient clinics at the Princess Alexandra, Mater, Royal Brisbane and Women's and Cairns Base Hospitals from 2021 - 2023.

Production of polymer material goods on-demand is a recurring science fiction element, but advances in chemistry and engineering have pushed it closer to reality. Experienced at a hobby scale by 3D printing enthusiasts and at an industrial level through rapid prototyping and modular manufacturing, the approach is on its way to further flexibility and high-performance material production. We review the advances in on-demand materials design as well as manufacturing, using examples in space exploration and sustainability, because these are cases where the value proposition for rapid changes in materials is strong.

This study explores evidence of a Reconstruction-era ethos in present-day treatment of youth of color accused of sexual assault. Specifically, we examined effects of perpetrator age and race on legal outcomes in 382 alleged child sexual abuse cases.

Background: Monitoring vital signs in hospitalized patients is crucial for evaluating their clinical condition. While early warning scores like the modified early warning score (MEWS) are typically calculated 3 to 4 times daily through spot checks, they might not promptly identify early deterioration. Leveraging technologies that provide continuous monitoring of vital signs, combined with an early warning system, has the potential to identify clinical deterioration sooner.
