Background: The aim of this study was to compare macular thickness measurements obtained from time-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) and spectral-domain OCT to evaluate their agreement.
Materials And Methods: Fifty randomly assigned subjects were included. Twenty-five were male, twenty-five female. In all cases both eyes were measured. Serial measurements were obtained from time-domain (StratusOCT, Zeiss) and spectral-domain OCT (Heidelberg Engineering, Germany). Total and regional macular thicknesses were obtained from both machines. Their agreement was estimated by Bland Altman plots.
Results: The foveal and total macular thicknesses measured by 3D OCT were significantly greater than those measured by StratusOCT (p < 0.001).
Conclusions: While both time-domain and spectral-domain OCTs are reliable for macular thickness measurements, spectral-domain OCT delivers significantly higher values for macular thickness compared to the time-domain OCT. Macular measurements obtained from the two OCT systems may not be used interchangeably.

Background: The retinal degenerative diseases retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and atrophic age- related macular degeneration (AMD) are characterized by vision loss from photoreceptor (PR) degeneration. Unfortunately, current treatments for these diseases are limited at best. Genetic and other preclinical evidence suggest a relationship between retinal degeneration and inflammation.

Purpose: Bietti crystalline dystrophy (BCD) is a rare retinal dystrophy characterized by progressive visual impairment. This study aimed to evaluate changes in retinal and choroidal vessels and blood flow in BCD patients using swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) and to investigate potential parameters associated with visual function.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 166 eyes from 86 clinically diagnosed BCD patients, classified into three disease stages based on Yuzawa's classification.

Background: Several studies show that optical coherence tomography (OCT) metrics e with cognition, disability, and brain structure in people with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). This review the correlation between OCT parameters and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements in PwMS.
Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science was performed, including studies published in English up to November 29, 2024 to identify studies reporting quantitative data on the correlation between baseline OCT parameters and MRI measurements in PwMS.

Purpose: To evaluate preoperative and early postoperative factors associated with changes in visual acuity in macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) patients.
Methods: A retrospective review of 59 eyes from 59 patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and silicone oil (SiO) tamponade for macula-off RRD. Preoperative and early postoperative characteristics were analyzed using the classification and regression tree (CART) analysis.

Prcis: The discriminant function of glaucoma, obtained by the Laguna ONhE colorimetric program, significantly correlates with the BMO-MRW. Furthermore, the diagnostic capacity was inferior to other structural tests in POAG patients.
Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic capability for glaucoma and the correlation between peripapillary and macular parameters using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and optic nerve head hemoglobin (OHN Hb) levels assessed by the Laguna ONhE® software using colorimetric analysis.
