We examined interactions between and within the left and right visual hemifields using elementary visual tasks. Each trial required identifying a letter at fixation and then either discriminating the orientation of (experiment 1) or detecting (experiment 2) peripheral Gabor targets. On half the trials Gabor distracters were presented between the Gabor targets, and were either restricted to one lateral hemifield (unilateral condition) or presented across the left and right hemifields (bilateral condition). Orientation discrimination and detection each exhibited bilateral superiority only when distracters were present. The results confirm bilateral superiority in attentional selection, even on these most elementary visual tasks.

With the vigorous development of football, research on youth football has garnered significant attention from scholars, leading to an increase in published findings. However, there is currently no comprehensive retrospective study that examines the status, hotspots, and trends of research in this field. This study employed Cite Space, a visual bibliometric software, to systematically review and analyze 1637 articles from the Web of Science (WOS) and China Knowledge Infrastructure Project (CNKI) databases up to January 2024.

The precision in electron holography studies on electrostatic and magnetic fields depends on the image quality of an electron hologram. Enhancing the image quality of electron holograms is essential for the comprehensive analysis of weak electromagnetic fields; however, extended electron beam irradiation can lead to undesirable radiation damage and contamination. Recent studies have demonstrated that noise reduction using the wavelet hidden Markov model (WHMM) can improve the precision of phase analysis for limited thin-foiled crystals.

This study explored the secondary use of Luxembourg's school monitoring tool for a large-scale screening of Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI)-related difficulties. 44 items, with and without time constraint, were developed, and pretested among 959 children. All children subsequently participated in an individual evaluation of higher-level visual processing (HLVP) measures related with CVI.

Background/objectives: The present study examines the role of morphemic units in the initial word recognition stage among beginning readers. We assess whether and to what extent sublexical units, such as morphemes, are used in processing French words and how their use varies with reading proficiency.
Methods: Two experiments were conducted to investigate the perceptual and morphological effects on the recognition of words presented in central vision, using a variable-viewing-position technique.
In the past decade, autistic children have increasingly enrolled in general schools worldwide. However, most insights into their educational experiences come from educators and parents. There is a gap in understanding autistic children's perspectives on their educational experiences.
