Proper sample preparation, scan setup, data collection and image analysis are key factors in successful atomic force microscopy (AFM), which can avoid gloss phenomena effectively from unreasonable manipulations or instrumental defaults. Fresh cleaved mica and newly treated glass cover were checked first as the substrates for all of the sample preparation for AFM. Then, crystals contamination from buffer was studied separately or combined with several biologic samples, and the influence of scanner, scan mode and cantilever to data collection was also discussed intensively using molecular and cellular samples. At last, images treatment and analysis with off-line software had been focused on standard and biologic samples, and artificial glosses were highly considered for their high probability. Oil wastewater often contains high levels of radium, a carcinogenic and radioactive element. This article closely engages with two investigations of radium in groundwater downstream from oil wastewater storage pits. While one investigation found that radium did not travel beyond the storage pits, the other found evidence of elevated radium some two kilometers downstream.

To be more sustainable, the pet food industry could increase the inclusion of animal byproducts from the human food chain and fish hydrolysates have been reported to benefit dogs' health. However, there is limited research on the impact of alternative marine hydrolysates in dog food. The current study evaluated the effects of including shrimp hydrolysate as a replacement for wheat gluten (experimental diet) in an extruded complete diet (control diet) on diet palatability, intake, digestibility, fecal characteristics and metabolites, oral volatile sulfur compounds (VSC), and coat quality in dogs.

Objective: This study was designed to comprehensively evaluate the changes in facial skin biophysical parameters with age, as well the influence of gender differences in populations of Shaanxi Province, China.
Methods: Fourteen skin parameters, including stratum corneum hydration (SCH), transdermal water loss (TEWL), erythema, melanin, R0, R2, R5, R7, F4, gloss, skin surface pH, skin erythema index (a*), wrinkle length, and sebum, were measured by noninvasive instruments in 481 volunteers from Shaanxi Province. Spearman correlation analysis was performed to analyze the relationship between skin parameters and age.

Introduction: A workplace-based assessment (WBA) is a learning recording device that is widely used in medical education globally. Although entrenched in medical curricula, and despite a substantial body of literature exploring them, it is not yet fully understood how WBAs play out in practice. Adopting a constructivist standpoint, we examine these assessments, in the workplace, using principles based upon naturalist inquiry, drawing from a theoretical framework based on Goffman's dramaturgical analogy for the presentation of self, and using qualitative research methods to articulate what is happening as learners complete them.
