Spectrum of serotypes of Coxsackie A virus and several others markers of virions, which cause enterovirus infection in children in Azerbaijan, was determined. Symptom of myotropism was used as a clinical sign. It was shown that enteroviruses were most frequently detected (41.1%) in children aged registered as enterovirus monoinfection. All isolated strains were characterized by such markers as cytopathic effect, delayed formation of plaques under the layer of agar with low content of sodium bicarbonate. Both attenuated and avirulent virions of Coxsackie A enteroviruses were detected.

In this work, two new compounds, N-(4,5-dimethoxyphenyl)adenine and N-(3,5-di-trifluoromethylphenyl)adenine, with a broad range of antiviral activity against RNA viruses were identified. We showed that these compounds exhibit pronounced antiviral activity against human poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, belonging to enterovirus C species. Both compounds also demonstrated pronounced antiviral activity against Coxsackie viruses B3, B5, and B6, belonging to enterovirus B species.

Objectives: To investigate the phytochemical composition of Ajwa date extract and evaluate its antiviral activity and mechanism of action.
Methods: High perfomance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry were used to analyze the phytochemical profile of Ajwa date extract. The antiviral activity was assessed using the MTT colorimetric assay against herpes simplex virus type I (HSV-I) and coxsackievirus B4 (CVB-4).

Introduction: Viral infections are the predominant cause of acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis (AHC) across the globe. From July to August of 2023, a large-scale conjunctivitis outbreak was witnessed in India, affecting a large number of individuals. The present study was initiated to identify the causative agent responsible for the AHC outbreak in Kalburgi district of Karnataka state.

Objective: To describe the trends in the incidence of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) before, during, and after China's Coronavirus Disease (COVID) control policies, and to interpret the influence on HFMD incidence at different control stages in Zhejiang Province.
Methods: We collected data on HFMD cases in Zhejiang between 2014 and 2023. We compared the constituent ratios of cases at different COVID control stages by sex, age, child groups, and pathogens and weekly seasonal indices to observe seasonal variations in the incidence of HFMD.

The development of pancreatic cancer requires both, acquisition of an oncogenic mutation in KRAS as well as an inflammatory insult. However, the physiological causes for pancreatic inflammation are less defined. We show here that oncogenic KRas-expressing pre-neoplastic lesion cells upregulate coxsackievirus (CVB) and adenovirus receptor (CAR).
