We present a photonic-crystal (PC) channel-drop filter (CDF) design based on 3x3 PC ring resonators. The normalized transmission spectra for single-ring and dual-ring configurations have been investigated using two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique in a square-lattice dielectric-rod PC structure. First, we investigate a single ring and we show that backward and forward dropping is possible in the third communication window. Then we add another ring and waveguide to develop a new CDF. This filter consists of an input and three outputs. Our FDTD simulation yields more than 85% efficiency over each output port.

This study is the first to report a biased sex ratio over multiple generations toward females, driven by exposure to high CO-induced low pH environments, using the ecologically and economically important Portuguese oyster () as a model.

Somatosensory cortex activity relates both to sensation and movement, reflecting their intimate relationship, but the extent and nature of sensory-motor interactions in the somatosensory cortex remain unclear. Here, we investigated perception-related sensory and motor signals in the whisker areas of mouse primary (wS1) and secondary (wS2) somatosensory cortices. We recorded neuronal activity while mice performed a whisker detection task using two alternative lickports, one each to indicate the presence or absence of a whisker deflection on a given trial.

The goal of the study presented in this work is to evaluate the performance of a proposed adaptive beamforming approach when combined with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in cell-free massive multiple input multiple output (CF m-MIMO) orientations. In this context, cooperative beamforming is employed taking into consideration the geographically adjacent access points (APs) of a virtual cell, aiming to minimize co-channel interference (CCI) among mobile stations (MSs) participating in NOMA transmission. Valley photonic crystals (VPCs) provide an intriguing approach to suppress backscattering losses and enable robust transport of light against sharp bends, which could be utilized to realize low-loss and small-footprint devices for on-chip optical communications. However, there are few studies on how to achieve power-efficient tunable devices based on VPCs, which are essential for implementing basic functions such as optical switching and routing. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a thermally tunable add-drop filter (ADF) based on VPCs operating at telecommunication wavelengths.

By employing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with Slacks-Based Measure (SBM) and DEA-Undesirable Output models, this study aims to investigate the operational and environmental efficiency of 26 major ports across China's Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Focusing on the interplay between operation performance and environmental sustainability, this research evaluates how well these ports manage their operational activities while minimizing their environmental impact. The results indicate that the ports in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Southwest Coast significantly outperform others.
