Dendrites and water-induced side reactions impose greatly challenge on the implementation of aqueous zinc ion batteries. To tackle these problems, an artificial rectified layer (ARL) with hydrophobic, zincophilic and insulating features was in-situ synthesized on Zn surface rapidly to prevent the electron leakage from Zn anode to aqueous electrolyte, which is the underlying logic for uneven Zn deposition and parasitic side reactions. The ARL also displays a high Zn2+ transference number of 0.

Background: Energy usage is one of the largest contributors to health care carbon emissions. By taking a strategic, targeted approach in one of the most energy-intensive units of a hospital, the potential for energy savings is real and significant.

Aim: To develop a protocol for the implementation of interventions to reduce the environmental impact of carbon emissions generated by an adult intensive care unit (AICU) in a London-based hospital setting.

Early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) is an alarming entity worldwide. Yet, stage-specific characteristics and prognosis in localized and synchronous metastatic EOCRC are not well-defined. Two cohorts of CRC patients (localized and synchronous metastatic) were evaluated, defining EOCRC as the diagnosis <50 years old.

O3-type NaNiMnO cathode material exhibits significant potential for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to its high theoretical capacity and ample sodium reservoir. Nonetheless, its practical implementation encounters considerable obstacles, such as impaired structural integrity, sensitivity to moisture, inadequate high-temperature stability, and being unstable under high-voltage conditions. This study investigates the co-substitution of Cu, Mg, and Ti, guided by principles of the periodic law, to enhance the material's stability under varying conditions.

New crop`s need to emerge to provide sustainable solutions to climate change and increasing abiotic and biotic constraints on agriculture. A large breadth of northern fruit trees and shrubs exhibit a high potential for domestication; however, obstacles to implementing traditional breeding methods have hampered or dissuaded efforts for improvement. This review article proposes a unique roadmap for domestication of northern fruit crops, with a focus on biotechnological (e.
