Diabetes mellitus is one of the most frequent endocrinopathies in the medical routine, appearing across different specialties. Although neurological involvement in the form of peripheral neuropathy is the most recurrent form acknowledged by physicians, the spectrum of neurological involvement can be more diverse. Here, we present a case of diabetic striatopathy, a rare neurological manifestation of diabetes mellitus with poor metabolic control, in a patient whose epidemiological group was not classically.

Purpose: High doses of amoxicillin are recommended to treat severe infections such as endocarditis. Amoxicillin causes dose-dependent toxicities, in particular crystal nephropathy. Toxicity could be avoided by monitoring of amoxicillin trough plasma concentrations (ATPC).

Purpose: Research on rare diseases and atypical health care demographics is often slowed by high interparticipant heterogeneity and overall scarcity of data. Synthetic data (SD) have been proposed as means for data sharing, enlargement, and diversification, by artificially generating real phenomena while obscuring the real patient data. The utility of SD is actively scrutinized in health care research, but the role of sample size for actionability of SD is insufficiently explored.
