This article describes the process used by a multi-institutional organization to engage nurses in using and conducting nursing research using the Clinical Scholar Model. The challenges faced on the journey to engage nurses in questioning their practice and searching for answers are highlighted. Key resources necessary for a successful outcome are identified.

Purpose Of Review: Significant inequities persist in hypertension detection and control, with minoritized populations disproportionately experiencing organ damage and premature death due to uncontrolled hypertension. Remote blood pressure monitoring combined with telehealth visits (RBPM) is proving to be an effective strategy for controlling hypertension. Yet there are challenges related to technology adoption, patient engagement and social determinants of health (SDoH), contributing to disparities in patient outcomes.

Internationally, the need to have service user involvement (the 'voice' of recovery journeys) as an established and significant feature on the landscape of professional development has been widely discussed in the area of mental health nursing (MHN) education for over a decade. Service user involvement contributes to a different understanding, bringing 'new' ways of knowing in nursing education and potentially new ways of practicing within mental health services. Background: Despite increased antiretroviral therapy (ART) access in South Africa, HIV testing and ART initiation are suboptimal in hospital settings. Key gaps include in-hospital case finding, ART initiation support, and primary health care (PHC) facility linkage after discharge.
Intervention Development And Description: We identified weaknesses in hospital processes by comparing them with PHC HIV services and developed a quality improvement model for implementation in 5 Johannesburg hospitals.
